The smallest bubble products are the ones that move in the biggest quantities, and they are the easiest to get wrong. A mini bubble stick costs very little, which means the margin, the freight and the presentation all matter more than they do on a gun.
Here is what we make at that end of the range and how it is bought.
The formats
Tube-shaped novelties first, because a tube is a shape that survives a party bag: a candy tube bubble toy in twelve painted dinosaur models, a reusable blowing stick that is refilled rather than thrown away, and a stick with a whistle in the cap, which turns it into two toys.
Then the ones with a mechanism: a camera projector stick that throws a picture, a change-face stick where the face alters as it is handled, a shark-shaped stick, and a parrot sword stick that ships as a twelve-piece display.
At the very bottom of the size range sit the promotional mini wands and the 35ml solution units — giveaway products, bought by the thousand rather than the dozen.
Why display counts matter more down here
A bubble gun sells itself. A mini stick at the cheap end does not — the buyer is standing in front of a counter deciding in two seconds. That is why several of these ship as pre-packed displays of twelve or twenty-four units: a 24-piece unicorn display is a product a retailer can place as it arrives, while the same sticks loose in a carton need someone to work out what to do with them.
Ask how the units are configured before you order. A display carton and a bulk carton of the same item are different products for different buyers.
What to check
The cap or seal is the whole product at this price point. A mini stick that leaks empties itself in a bag before it is ever used, and at this volume a leak rate of a few percent is a serious number of complaints.
Check the wand ring too, and check that the solution inside is enough to actually blow bubbles with rather than enough to wet the tube.
Then check the small parts. Anything with a removable cap is assessed against small parts rules in the market you are selling into, and this is the category where that matters most.
Ordering
Minimum is 5 pieces per design, mixable across designs, so a first order can cover several formats. Custom branding works well on the mini formats — a logo on a giveaway product is the point of a giveaway — and expect the minimum per design to rise when printing is involved.
