Novelty toys sell differently to everything else in a toy catalogue. Nobody buys one. They buy a display, or a carton, because the format is the product — the surprise is what the child is paying for.
That is the gashapon idea, and it is the reason this category has its own buying logic.
What we make in this format
Capsule machines where the child turns a handle and a surprise comes out, themed on dinosaurs, animals and craft. A water-growing dinosaur capsule machine, a DIY bead jewellery version, and punch-box formats where the surprise is behind a card the child pushes out — a dinosaur punch box and a bead-making punch box, plus a small claw machine.
All of them ship in window boxes, which is not a packing detail — it is what lets a shop put the product on a counter where the child can see the mechanism. That visibility is what sells the unit.
The buying logic is different
With a bubble gun you are selling a product; the customer decides once. With a novelty capsule you are selling a repeat behaviour. The child wants the next one. That changes what you stock.
Depth matters more than breadth. A shop with a full display of one theme sells more than one with three capsules each of six themes, because the display itself creates the game. If you are trialling, buy enough of a single item to build a visible display rather than a mixed sample that looks like leftovers.
Contents matter more than the mechanism too. If the surprise inside is thin — a flimsy trinket — the second purchase never happens. The mechanism only has to work; the contents have to be worth it.
What to check before ordering
Work the mechanism yourself, repeatedly. A capsule machine that jams on the third turn is a machine that generates an argument at the counter.
Check the small parts and the age labelling. Anything with capsules and small contents is held to the small parts requirements in the market you are selling into, and this is the category where that gets tested most often.
Check that the contents and the theme match. Mixed-up assortments are a common factory error and a common complaint.
Ordering
Minimums are 5 pieces per design, mixable across designs. For novelty items, ask us about the display box configuration as well as the carton, because how many units make a display decides what a retailer can actually put on a counter. WhatsApp: +86 173 4881 6397.
